Travis Scott has been crowned the first and only artist to have three solo No. 1 debuts in a one year period, as his latest single “FRANCHISE” opened on top of this week’s Billboard Hot 100.
The musician who previously held this record was Ariana Grande, and it took her a year and four months to top the charts three times. Travis broke her record in a time frame less than a year.
“FRANCHISE,” which features M.I.A. and Young Thug, was released on September 25. According to Nielsen Music, the single racked up 19.4 million U.S. streams in its first week and managed to sell around 58,000 copies on cassette and CD along with roughly 40,000 digital downloads.
